Physiotherapy at home in Fair Park

In the middle of Ipoh's hospital district, recovery still happens best in your own home.

What does home physiotherapy mean in Fair Park?

Fair Park sits in a central residential and institutional area beside Greentown. A physiotherapist visits your home, watches how you move through your own rooms and starts treatment in the same session.

For a Fair Park household, that can start with a discharge. Our home physiotherapy service is available now across Ipoh.

What does discharge day look like here?

Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun and KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital are both on the Fair Park map. That means some patients go from a ward bed to their own front door within hours.

The change is sudden. The bed has rails and a call button at the hospital, while at home there is a step at the gate and a bathroom floor to manage. The first week is when families feel most alone.

How can a relative prepare while the patient is still an inpatient?

Prepare the home before the day. Message us the layout and we will tell you what would help.

  • Clear a path from the front door to the bedroom.
  • Check the bathroom floor and the route from bed to toilet.
  • Find a firm chair without wheels.
  • Put the discharge papers, scan reports and medicine list together.
  • Note the steps at the gate and the stairs.

Our post-surgical rehabilitation page explains the first weeks.

How do we work with the hospitals’ advice?

We are a separate home physiotherapy service, and the nearby hospitals are a convenience for families rather than partners of ours.

What we do is take the discharge papers and plan the first home visit around them, so recovery continues without a gap.

Can a hospital worker or shift worker book around duty hours?

Some Fair Park residents work at or near the hospitals. Tell us your shift pattern and when someone is at home, and we suggest visit times to suit. Early morning, afternoon and day-off visits can be arranged.

If the patient is alone for part of the day, we agree what is safe with you first. We also send exercises by message, so a family member can help in the evening.

Questions people ask

My mother is an inpatient at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun and lives in Fair Park. Can we plan physio before she goes home?

Yes. Message us the diagnosis, the expected discharge date from the ward team, and the layout of the house. We then plan the first visit so it starts when she arrives home. We are a separate service from the hospital.

I live in Fair Park and work shifts at a hospital. Can a home visit fit my schedule?

Tell us your shift pattern on WhatsApp and we will see which times can work. Early morning, afternoon and day-off visits can be arranged, and we confirm what is possible.

What can a relative do while my father is still in KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital?

Prepare the home. Clear a path from the door, check the bathroom floor, find a firm chair and keep the discharge papers together. Message us the house layout, and we can tell you what else would help before the day he returns.

How do you work alongside Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun or KPJ?

We are a separate home physiotherapy service. Fair Park's hospitals are on the map, and we plan from the discharge papers you bring to the first visit, so your hospital team's advice stays the starting point.

Every body is different. For a diagnosis that fits you, see a registered physiotherapist or doctor, and seek urgent care for sudden weakness, numbness, chest pain or severe pain after a fall.
