Physiotherapy at home in Station 18

Your clinic visits and your family outings both matter, and home physio can fit between them.

What does home physiotherapy look like in Station 18?

A physiotherapist visits your home, watches how you move in it, and treats you there. In Station 18 the plan is built around the routine you already have: clinic checks, weekend outings and the walk from the car.

The guide to home physiotherapy in Station 18 covers booking. This page covers the place.

What is Station 18 like for a home visit?

Station 18 is a suburb on the southern side of Ipoh, anchored by Aeon Mall Station 18. Klinik Kesihatan Station 18 is the government clinic in the area, and Pasir Puteh and Pengkalan are neighbouring areas.

We ask about your home first: the building type, the steps at the door and who is there during the day. We then plan the first visit around those details.

Which hospitals do families come home from?

Families may come home from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, Hospital Fatimah or Pantai Hospital Ipoh. After discharge, follow-up can continue at the government health clinic.

Bring the discharge summary, the clinic card and the medicine list to the first visit. If the ward arranged a walking aid or a bed, tell us. Our home physiotherapy page explains how the first session runs.

What do Station 18 residents ask us for?

  • Walking and balance for an older parent who also attends a government clinic.
  • Recovery after surgery or a fall, with a plan that fits the follow-up schedule.
  • Confidence with a walker or wheelchair for outings to the mall.
  • Stroke recovery at home, with a family member learning to help.

See older adult rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation for these goals. For stroke, read stroke rehabilitation at home in Station 18.

A family outing to the mall as a goal

Going to Aeon Mall Station 18 with the family is a clear goal. It breaks into steps: out of the car, across the entrance, along a corridor and into a seat. We practise each part, one at a time.

The first outing is short and has a seat nearby. We choose a quiet time, so the patient is not rushed.

Which nearby areas do we also cover?

Nearby pages include Pengkalan Pegoh, Pasir Puteh and Simpang Pulai. If your street is not named, send it on WhatsApp.

Questions people ask

My mother goes to Klinik Kesihatan Station 18 for her checks. Will home physio clash with that?

No, the two fit together. Keep her clinic appointments, and bring the clinic card, medicine list and any notes to the first visit. If the clinic changes her medicines, tell us, because it can change how we plan exercise.

My father uses a walker and wants to go to Aeon Mall Station 18 with the family. How do we prepare?

We start at home with the walker, then practise the car, the kerb and a short corridor. For the mall, we plan a first outing with a seat nearby and a time of day that is quieter. Each step is agreed with the family first.

We drive to the mall every weekend. Is a wheelchair or a walker better for him right now?

It depends on his strength and balance, and on how far he must go. The physiotherapist watches him walk and recommends one, or a mix. A wheelchair for long distances and a walker for short ones is a common combination.

I live near Pasir Puteh or Pengkalan. Are those parts of Station 18 for your visits?

They are neighbouring areas with their own pages, and we arrange home visits across Ipoh. Send your street on WhatsApp and we reply to say how we can help, so you do not need to work out which page applies.

Every body is different. For a diagnosis that fits you, see a registered physiotherapist or doctor, and seek urgent care for sudden weakness, numbness, chest pain or severe pain after a fall.
