What physiotherapy can you find in Bercham?
Bercham is a large north-eastern suburb of Ipoh that began as a tin-mining town. It is made up of dozens of taman housing estates, with SMK Bercham, SRJK (C) Bercham, the Huat Tian Keong temple and the long Jalan Bercham at its centre.
The one physiotherapy option we could confirm is the Yayasan Ipoh centre, so the list is short. Here is what we found, so you can see how much is known.
What does Yayasan Ipoh list?
Yayasan Ipoh is a non-profit founded in 1982, and its therapy division, the Persatuan Pemulihan Sultan Azlan Shah (PPSAS), is at Lorong Bercham 11. It lists physiotherapy, electrotherapy, pain management, occupational and speech therapy, hydrotherapy, sports and post-operative rehabilitation, horse riding therapy, day care for special needs children and an orthopaedic specialist clinic [1].
Ipoh Echo described it in 2022 as a PERKESO rehabilitation panel provider. Read our full guide, Yayasan Ipoh rehabilitation: what it offers, for fees, hours and sources.
What else is listed in the area?
We found no other Bercham physiotherapy provider whose listing we could confirm.
It is useful to know that Bercham has fewer listed providers than some other Ipoh areas. That makes a home visit more than a convenience for some families.
What do home visits look like in Bercham?
Bercham is mostly taman landed estates, with flats such as Rumah Pangsa Bercham and the settlement of Kampung Tersusun Tasek. The first obstacle is usually the stairs, whether it is the front step of a terrace house or the flights to a flat.
A physiotherapist who comes to the house can practise the exact stairs, the walk from the bed to the toilet and the bathroom floor. A family member or helper can watch, so the exercises continue between visits. Our home physiotherapy in Bercham page and home physiotherapy in Ipoh page show what a visit involves.
Who is better served by a centre, and who by a visit?
A centre such as Yayasan Ipoh may suit a family who can travel, wants several therapies in one place, or has a PERKESO claim. A home visit may suit someone who tires on the trip, lives upstairs, or is just home from hospital.
Hills such as Gunung Bercham and Gunung Tambun Tengah draw walkers, and some of them meet knee or ankle problems on the slopes. For a sports injury, see our guide to sports physio options in Ipoh.
Where do we fit?
Home visits are available across Ipoh now, including Bercham. Our Canning Garden centre, near Fatimah Hospital, is opening soon for people who prefer to come to us. Both cover back and neck pain, sports injuries, post-surgery care, stroke, older adults and children.
You can compare other providers in our Ipoh physiotherapy directory. If a Bercham centre suits you better, we will say so.
