Home physio for new homes in Falim

A parent who has just moved into your new flat is learning a home not built around them.

How does home physiotherapy work in Falim?

A physiotherapist comes to your home, watches how you move through it and treats you there. Falim is changing fast, with new residential projects, so we ask about the type of home and what is new about it.

Send a WhatsApp message with your residence or street, who needs help and the main problem. The Falim area page describes the suburb, and home physiotherapy explains the service.

Why does a new home need a check?

A new flat is built for a young family, not always for a person who walks slowly. A parent who has moved in learns a layout they did not choose, and stumbles are common in the first weeks.

  • Door widths and threshold heights.
  • Bathroom floor, tiles and the shower step.
  • Bed height and the walk to the toilet at night.
  • Lighting along the route.

The physiotherapist walks the route with your parent, which is more useful than a checklist.

How do we handle lifts and entry rules?

Newer residences may have managed entry. Tell the management when the visit is, give the unit number and ask for a visitor pass if one is needed. If equipment comes with the physiotherapist, ask for the lift to be free.

Send us any rule you know about, such as a drop-off point or a registration step.

Can a mall be a rehab space?

AEON Ipoh Falim is a flat, air-conditioned place with seats, and it is a sensible choice on a hot or wet afternoon. It is a good step between home and the street outside.

We build up gradually. First one corridor and a rest, then a loop, then a coffee at a table. Ask the mall about walking aids and wheelchairs if you plan to bring one.

How do we practise crossing a busy road?

Jalan Lahat is a main road, and crossing it asks for speed, attention and quick stopping. We rehearse each piece at home, then at a quiet crossing with a helper.

Use a pedestrian crossing and go at a quiet hour. Do not attempt a busy crossing until the physiotherapist agrees.

Which hospital papers do I send?

Families in Falim come home from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, Hospital Fatimah or Pantai Hospital Ipoh. Send a photo of the discharge summary and the medicine list before the first visit.

If the patient had a stroke, read stroke rehabilitation at home in Falim.

Questions people ask

My mother moved into our new flat last month and keeps stumbling at night. What should I check?

Look at the path from her bed to the bathroom, the threshold, the floor surface and the lighting. A night light and a rail can fix the worst problems. Send us photos of the room and the bathroom, and the physiotherapist advises on each point.

Our residence asks visitors to register and book the lift. How do we arrange it?

Tell the management the date and the unit number, and send us any entry instruction. Ask for the lift to be free at the time of the visit if equipment is coming. That saves the first minutes of the session.

Can we use AEON for walking practice in the afternoon heat?

Yes, once the patient walks safely with a helper. The floor is flat, the air is cooler and seats are available. Start with one corridor and a rest, and add distance each week. Confirm any rules on mobility aids with the mall.

My father wants to cross Jalan Lahat on his own again. Is that safe?

Not until he can walk fast enough to finish the crossing, look both ways and stop quickly. We practise at home first, then rehearse with a helper at a quiet crossing. Use a pedestrian crossing and choose a quiet time.

Every body is different. For a diagnosis that fits you, see a registered physiotherapist or doctor, and seek urgent care for sudden weakness, numbness, chest pain or severe pain after a fall.
