Home physiotherapy in Kampung Simee

Kampung Simee sits beside Canning Garden, and home visits can start before our centre opens.

What does a home visit look like in an older Kampung Simee house?

The physiotherapist comes to the door, listens to what happened, and watches how you move in the rooms you use. Kampung Simee is a mixed, older residential area, so the house may have a narrow passage, a step between rooms and a bathroom that was added later.

We look at each of those places, and choose exercises that fit them. Our home physiotherapy in Ipoh page explains the general steps of a first visit.

How do we continue from Fatimah Hospital?

Fatimah Hospital is a familiar name for Kampung Simee neighbours. Others come home from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital or Pantai Hospital Ipoh.

Bring the discharge letter, the medicine list and any exercise sheet from the ward. We then carry on from what the hospital began, and your doctor keeps the medical follow-up. Our guide on physiotherapy near Fatimah Hospital explains the options.

When does the Canning Garden centre come in?

Our centre at Canning Garden, near Fatimah Hospital, is opening soon, and Kampung Simee lies beside Canning Garden. We have no opening date yet, so home visits are the way to start now.

When the centre opens, some patients will keep home visits for the hard days and use the centre for equipment and longer sessions. You decide with the physiotherapist, based on how well you can travel. Read about in-centre physiotherapy.

What goals fit Kampung Simee?

The wet market is a natural one. It needs standing, carrying a bag and walking over a wet, uneven floor. We build those parts at home first and add the real trip with a family member beside you.

On wet or hot days, the indoor walkways at Aeon Kinta City offer sheltered practice, with benches for rests. For follow-up checks of blood pressure or diabetes, neighbours use Klinik Kesihatan Simee, and we plan our visits around those appointments.

How do family members away from Ipoh arrange this?

Send us the diagnosis, the lane, who is at home by day and which hospital the discharge came from. A daughter in KL or a son in Singapore can do this by message.

A relative or helper can sit in on the visit, and you can ask us for a short message afterwards. See our guide on caring for parents in Ipoh from KL.

Prices and next steps

Prices for home and centre differ, and we quote on WhatsApp after a short description. Beside Kampung Simee, our page on home physiotherapy in Canning Garden covers the neighbouring estate, and the Kampung Simee area page lists the other services.

Questions people ask

Your centre will be next to us. Why not wait for it to open?

The centre has no opening date yet, and recovery should not wait. Home visits can begin now, and the plan carries over. When the centre opens, you and the physiotherapist decide together whether to move some sessions there.

My father came home from Fatimah Hospital. What should we bring to the first visit?

Keep the discharge letter, the medicine list, the operation note if there was surgery and any scan reports together. If the ward physiotherapist gave a sheet of exercises, show us that too. We then continue from what the hospital began.

My mother's house has a narrow passage and a high step to the kitchen. Is that a problem?

No, it is a good place to practise. The physiotherapist watches her on that step and teaches a safe way, with a rail or a stable chair if needed. Narrow passages also suit a walking frame that folds, which we can talk through on WhatsApp.

Can the Simee market become a walking goal?

Yes, once she is steady enough. We break the trip into parts at home: standing, turning, carrying a light bag. A family member goes with her on the first trips, and we adjust the plan as she gets stronger.

Every body is different. For a diagnosis that fits you, see a registered physiotherapist or doctor, and seek urgent care for sudden weakness, numbness, chest pain or severe pain after a fall.
