Which Ipoh hospitals publish physiotherapy information?
One private hospital publishes something. Pantai Hospital Ipoh has a physiotherapy and rehabilitation page, which lists programmes from newborns to older adults, sports and work injuries, breathing conditions, stroke, Parkinson’s, head injury, cerebral palsy, back and neck pain, balance and women’s health. It says appointments can be requested online [1].
We could not find a current public page describing physiotherapy at Hospital Fatimah Ipoh, so ask the hospital what it offers today.
What about HRPB and KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital?
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) is the main government hospital in Ipoh, and KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital is a private specialist hospital on Jalan Raja DiHilir. We could not find a public page that describes physiotherapy at either one.
That does not mean physiotherapy is absent. It means the ward doctor or the follow-up clinic is the best source. Our guide to physiotherapy after discharge from HRPB lists what to ask.
Is there a rehabilitation centre for insured workers?
For a worker covered by PERKESO, Ipoh Echo reported in June 2026 that a Sultan Nazrin Shah PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre operates in Ipoh, with structured physiotherapy, an intensive programme and robotic rehabilitation. The article does not state who is eligible [3].
Ask your employer or PERKESO whether your case qualifies. We explain more in PERKESO and SOCSO physiotherapy in Ipoh.
Government or private: how do you choose?
Government and private hospitals work differently. A government hospital sets your follow-up through the clinic, and the waiting time depends on the department. A private hospital lets you choose the time and sometimes the physiotherapist, and fees are higher.
Neither is right for everyone, and some families use both: government care for the main treatment and a private or home physiotherapist to fill the gaps. See government vs private physiotherapy in Perak for more.
What happens on the day you leave hospital?
Discharge day is busy. A parent is tired, the family is carrying bags, and the physiotherapy plan is easy to miss. In Ipoh, the next stop is usually a terrace house with stairs, a bathroom at the back and a bedroom upstairs.
Before you leave, ask the ward questions in the list below. Our checklist for after hospital discharge in Ipoh goes further.
- What are the surgeon’s or doctor’s movement limits, and for how long?
- Has a physiotherapist seen the patient on the ward, and what did they advise?
- When is the first follow-up, and who will I see?
- Is outpatient physiotherapy arranged, and when does it start?
- What equipment is needed at home, such as a walking frame?
- Which warning signs mean I should return to the emergency department?
When does home physiotherapy continue hospital care well?
Home physiotherapy fits the gap between discharge and the first outpatient session. The physiotherapist works within the surgeon’s instructions, sees your stairs and bathroom, and trains the movements you need on the first day home.
Read continuing hospital physio at home and our home physiotherapy in Ipoh page. Never skip a review appointment because home physio has started.
Where do we fit?
Kinesio Rehab Ipoh is independent of every hospital named here. Home visits are available across Ipoh now, and our Canning Garden centre, near Fatimah Hospital, is opening soon. Send us the discharge details on WhatsApp and we will tell you how we would start.
