Can I use insurance for physiotherapy?
Possibly, and the answer depends on your policy. Some plans cover outpatient physiotherapy, within a limit that differs by plan.
The surest way is to ask your insurer before the first visit. Our page on how fees work explains how we quote the plan.
What is the difference between cashless and reimbursement?
In a cashless claim, the insurer pays the provider directly, and you pay little or nothing at the visit. This works only when the provider is on the insurer’s panel.
In a reimbursement claim, you pay first and send the receipt and papers to your insurer, who pays you back. This is the route to plan for unless your insurer tells you otherwise.
Read more in our guide on cashless versus reimbursement.
What have we confirmed?
We have not confirmed any insurer panels or direct billing. Please do not assume your card works for cashless treatment.
If you plan to claim, tell us your insurer’s name when you message us. We will say what is possible.
What should I ask my insurer?
A short call before the first visit saves confusion later. Have your policy number ready.
- Is outpatient physiotherapy covered, and what is the yearly limit?
- Are home visits covered, or only clinic visits?
- Do I need a doctor’s referral or a diagnosis letter first?
- Is the claim cashless or reimbursement?
- Which documents do I send, and by when?
Do I need a referral?
Check with your doctor or insurer whether a referral is needed, especially for insurance claims. Some insurers want a letter before they pay.

What about PERKESO and other schemes?
Some workers have rehabilitation support through PERKESO after work-related injuries. Each scheme sets its own rules, so check with them directly.
