Physiotherapy at home in Buntong

Stirring, kneading and standing for hours at a sweets kitchen can leave you needing care at home.

What does home physiotherapy look like in Buntong?

A physiotherapist visits your home, watches how you move in it, and treats you there. In Buntong, the plan starts from a daily job: the kitchen, the stove, the shop counter or the walk to the market.

The guide to home physiotherapy in Buntong covers booking. This page covers the place.

What is Buntong like for a home visit?

Buntong is one of the largest residential areas in Ipoh, with a large Indian community. Kampung Kacang Puteh is a hub for Indian sweets and murukku production. SMK Buntong and Pasar Buntong are other landmarks, and Jalan Sg Pari has been approved for an upgrade.

Because Buntong is big, homes differ. We ask about the building type, the steps at the door and who is home during the day, and plan the first visit from there.

Which hospitals do families come home from?

Families may come home from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, Hospital Fatimah or Pantai Hospital Ipoh.

Bring the discharge summary and the medicine list to the first visit. If the ward arranged a walking aid or a bed, tell us. Our home physiotherapy page explains how a first session runs.

What do Buntong residents ask us for?

  • Shoulder, wrist and hand pain after hours of stirring, pressing or kneading.
  • Back and foot pain after long shifts at a stove or a counter.
  • Recovery after surgery, a fall or a stroke for an older family member.
  • Knee and hip pain from sitting on the floor or climbing steps.

See pain management for back and joint pain, and older adult rehabilitation for strength and balance. For stroke, read stroke rehabilitation at home in Buntong.

Work at the sweets stove: what we look at

We watch the repeated movement, the height of the work surface and the breaks you take. A small change, such as raising a tray or switching the stirring hand, can reduce strain.

We then give you short exercises for the shoulder, forearm and back. They take a few minutes, so they fit between batches.

What about festivals and family care?

Festival days bring extra kitchen work and a houseful of guests. Tell us the dates that matter, and we plan visits and exercises so they do not clash with your family’s preparations.

If an elder lives at home, bring them into the conversation. They know what they want to manage again, and that becomes the goal we build together.

Which nearby areas do we also cover?

Nearby pages include Taman Pertama, Falim and Pasir Pinji. If your street is not named, send it on WhatsApp.

Questions people ask

I make murukku at home and my shoulder and wrist hurt after each batch. Can physio help?

Yes. We watch the movement you repeat, such as pressing, stirring or lifting, and look at the shoulder, wrist and back. You get small changes to how you stand and work, plus short exercises for the minutes between batches.

Can a visit be planned around the Deepavali rush?

Tell us your busiest weeks and the hours you can pause. We plan visits before and after the peak, and give you a short routine for the days when the stove is on for most of the day.

My mother speaks mostly Tamil. Can the physiotherapist explain things in a language she understands?

Tell us on WhatsApp which language she is most comfortable in, and ask what language the visit can be held in. A family member can sit in and help, and we show the exercises by demonstration so the meaning is clear.

Is Kampung Kacang Puteh covered, and what about Taman Pertama next door?

Both are covered, because we arrange home visits across Ipoh. Taman Pertama has its own page too. Send the street name on WhatsApp, and we reply to say how we can help.

Every body is different. For a diagnosis that fits you, see a registered physiotherapist or doctor, and seek urgent care for sudden weakness, numbness, chest pain or severe pain after a fall.
